Providence Psychological Services, Inc. is a non-denominational outpatient practice that provides comprehensive and effective mental health services, integrated with Christian beliefs and values. We are committed to bringing healing, growth and wholeness to children, adolescents, adults and families.

Our History

Providence Psychological Services, Inc. was founded in May 2012 by CEO and Senior Clinical Director, Dr. Kawanna E. Ward. Since 2012, Providence Psychological Services, Inc. has expanded from a consulting firm, to a full time operating outpatient mental health practice. Providence Psychological Services, Inc is committed to serving residents of Western Tidewater and surrounding areas, and being a positive change agent in our community.

Outpatient Services

In a comfortable, supportive, and nurturing environment, we offer a highly personalized approach, tailored to the needs of each individual to help attain the personal growth they’re striving for. Our sessions strategically address and resolve issues that individuals bring to therapy. We help individuals identify problems, understand why past efforts at addressing these problems may have been ineffective, and then develop alternative solutions. We are a goal-directed and person-centered practice, that facilitates lifestyle changes, one individual and family at a time. Providence Psychological Services, Inc. provides outpatient counseling services for children, adults and families, and we also offer group counseling services.

We are thrilled to announce a significant development that will enhance the comprehensive care we provide to our valued clients. Starting January 2024, we are excited to begin offering MEDICATION MANAGEMENT SERVICES!

We both do IN PERSON and TELEHEALTH appointments. We are committed to continually improving and expanding our services to better serve our community.
